Romans 5:7-8, NIV: Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous
man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his
own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
If a lifeboat had room for only one more person, and it was between you and the person who
you knew would soon find a cure for cancer, would you give up your seat? And how about if
that person was a murderer, or an adulterer, or a racistwhat then? The love of
Christ looks beyond where we are, and regardless of what we may become He says to us,
You are worth it. For those who would see themselves unlovablethis is a
great irony which may very well lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
