Water From a Rock

Exodus 17:6, NIV: I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.
I consider the dry, desolate times of life. Times that we are uncertain, or sometimes unaware, of what God is doing in our lives. These times often seem a waste of time. They can continue on and on—seemingly endless. But nothing is wasted at the Hand of God. All things are used for good. As I contemplate a stretch of time in my own life that seemed fruitless, I see now where God’s hand was, and I know that I know that He never ceased His work in me. He can still bring water from a rock.
