2 Peter 3:8, NASB: "But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day."

It seems these days that patience is on shorter supply than ever. Maybe that's due to our living in a nation where so much is available without us having to wait very long to get it. However, there is an old saying that still bears repeating; and the saying goes like this: "Good things come to those who wait." And for the child of God, the best things come to those who wait. In fact, Isaiah 40:31 tells us that, "those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary." While patience may be a virtue, it is also something that brings great rewards to those who will lean the power within it. The patient person does not pick the fruit until it is ready. And the patient child of God will learn to trust God to unfold things in His time; recognizing that He knows better than we how long is long enough.
