Jeremiah 33:3, NASB: 'Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'

Limited by our expectations, our spiritual heights will only reach so high; so long as our expectations remain the same. We say we want to see more; to experience more; to know more of God's wondrous supernatural works, but we too often shut the doors, turn off our minds, and close our eyes to what He is doing presently--or to what He has already done. One must wonder how many of God's great and mighty things are written off as coincidence or happenstance. How much of what God does goes unnoticed because it does not fit in our predefined idea of the way things are; or should be? How much of what He tells us is quickly dismissed because it doesn't set with our reasoning? What holds us back from reaching spiritual heights? Do we call to Him not expecting an answer? Do we call to Him expecting Him to tell us only the things we want to hear? If we are to hear God's Great and mighty things, we will have to abandon what we expect; and prepare ourselves for things that will challenge everything we ever thought we knew to be so.
