Psalm 84:1-2, NIV: How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

It's like that time when you and a good friend stood beside your pickup, or sat across the table, or sat on your front porch; and the discussion moved from topic to topic. You know. You talked and talked and found it so very hard to pull away. Maybe it was getting late, but you just didn't want the conversation to end. It's kind of like that sometimes. You come into your time with God--walking with Him and talking with Him--and you just don't want it to end. You strongly feel His presence. His voice which softly speaks into your heart is so real your ears are almost fooled to think they hear an audible voice. It's kind of like that. Or is it? Perhaps we forget it can be. We share such times with good friends. Why should we not share such times with our Greatest Friend? "How do we get there?" you ask? Not so much different than how we get there with good friends. We meet somewhere...we talk...we listen. We listen. When we are enjoying that conversation with a good friend, we listen. As we do, the world and distractions of life temporarily get put to the side. Remember that time when nothing else seemed to matter while you enjoyed that conversation with your friend. Well, with our Heavenly can be like that time.
