2 Cor. 5:18-19, NIV: All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
Sometimes we wonder about what events preceded Genesis one. It is a matter of great curiosity, and perhaps one day, when we are with God, we will know such things. However, the Bible God has provided to us centers upon the message of His redemption of mankind. We only have to read as far as Genesis chapter three before we are faced with the sin and rebellion of humans and the punishment thereof. The Word of God has clearly been provided to us to teach us about our sinful fallen condition; our need for redemption and restoration; and the One (Jesus) who was sent to redeem us and reconcile us to the Father. In Godís Word, we learn about who we were without Christ, who we are to be in Him, and the promise from Him that we who believe in Him will remain with Him for eternity. There is much Godís message to us does not reveal about events prior to Genesis one. There are many questions we have that are not answered within the pages of Godís Word. Perhaps if God were to have given us volumes on the whys and wherefores, we would have spent countless hours investigating pre-creation theologies and developing endless, meaningless doctrines. But, what we have is what God gave; and in His Word we will find all that we need to draw us toward our Redeemer so that we might be reconciled to our Creator--and to remain with Him forever.
