One Day Called Today

Joshua 20:15, NIV: But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
One day called today. One moment called this moment. To each, one life is given. And each of us can make something of it that glorifies God. We have 24 hours in a day just like everyone else. We can make the most of it, or we can squander it. The choice is ours. We can fill our time with so many pursuits that do nothing for the Kingdom of God, or we can be certain to spend a good portion of our time focused on the cause of Christ. Joshua urged, “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” In a matter of moments, in this day called today, reflect upon where your time is spent. In your average day, who is it that you serve? If the answer is not the Lord, then what can you do to change that? We each have been given one life, and we are meant to use it to glorify God.
