Isaiah 40:31, KJV: But they that wait upon the LORD shall
renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Day after day we are faced with choices, and with some of our choices a single
decision to makeŚwill I wait upon the Lord, or will I take off on my own? It
seems that so much of what we do is done out of reaction, reason, or previous
experience. We know that in all things we should acknowledge God. We know that
before important decisions are made that we should pray. And if we are able to
do that much, we often fall short in our efforts to wait for clear direction.
Waiting upon the Lord means we will have to let things be according to His way
and His timing. Sometimes the answer comes not through activity, but in being
still at the feet of Jesus, and patiently waiting upon Him. Oh the blessings we
receive, when first we practice to believe.
