Genesis 2:7, NIV:  The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Consider the lungs. All day long they take air in, and let it out. While we are awake and while we sleep, they continue their work. We realize they are there. We realize we could not live without them. But we truly pay them very little attention unless they start to fail us. They are just part of the many marvelous things the Lord has made to sustain us. And in them, He has breathed the breath of life into each of us. While we are awake, and while we sleep, God continues His work in us. We realize He is there. We realize we could not live without Him. But how frequently do we find we have reduced Him to the semblance of our lungs--sometimes paying Him little attention as we go through our lives--often forgetting how truly important He is?
