Ephesians 2:6-7, NIV: And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Some days, we feel we can look back at the day and know that we have done well. And as we notice Godís involvement, influence, and perhaps, reward, we rest in the knowledge that He truly rewards those who diligently seek Him. But what about the days we reflect back on and feel as though we have failed--and yet, we notice the active, caring, loving, and forbearing hand of God--what about those times? Should Godís love be different toward us based upon our performance? How can we think we can earn Godís favor, or merit His wrath? The scripture is clear that it was Jesus who earned Godís favor for us, and He who bore Godís wrath in our place. And it is through Jesus that we have come to know the God of creation as a loving Father. We have done nothing to earn our Lordís love, nor can we do anything to lose it. We must simply trust in what Jesus has done, and that it is, was, and forever will be in every way sufficient.
