Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight

It is said that insanity is defined as, “doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results.” If that is the case, I must admit to having some insanity of my own—as I’m sure many others would as well. “If at first you don’t succeed,” states the old proverb, “try, try again.” But try as we might, there are times when the same methods, or even some different methods, are nothing more than continued insanity. For surely it is insane to try with our ways again and again without seeking the Lord’s ways. However, it is not insanity to try again and again to do things God’s way—regardless of the results. Getting the expected results is never an indicator to continue in our methods, anymore than not getting the expected results means to change the methods. The results are and always will belong to God. We are only responsible to obey, follow, and trust—regardless of how unreasonable it may seem to us, or anyone else. Faith follows Christ wherever—anything else is simply insane.
