John 4:13-14, NASB: Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone
who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that
I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will
become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.
Quiet times and spiritual disciplines are not an obligation—they are a trust.
For we come to God trusting that He will be there, and that He will take
whatever we give Him, and that He will make something out of it. We do not
always approach God with a heart of worship. We do not always feel like being
still before Him. We are not always in the mood to pray, or sing, or read the
Bible. Yet, we are not compelled by feeling, but by faith. Regardless of the
manner of your mood, you can come to Him in full assurance that He can bring
from your barren heart a wellspring of life—and can do so at any moment.
