Matthew 7:24, NIV:  Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Not so long ago, the church I attend experienced together a widely known study called, ďThe 40 Days of Purpose.Ē It was a wonderful time for our church. Everyone seemed excited to read the material, meet once a week, and share what God had been teaching him or her during the week. But like so many similar studies, there comes a time when you finish the last page, and close the book. But does it end there? How do the 40 days of purpose become 40 years of practice? Discovering Godís truths can be very exciting--and so much more. His Word is given to us so that in us, His Word might grow and bear spiritual fruit. Think about the things God has taught you. How much have you put into practice? How well do you practice that which you know to do? What has fallen through the cracks? Take some time today to consider how you can apply Godís lessons to your life in such a way that the practice will bring permanence in your spiritual living.
