John 20:28-29, NIV: Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are
those who have not seen and yet have believed."
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stand in front of a burning
bush, or see the dead raised, or see an angel, or perhaps even have Jesus stand
before you and invite you to touch the nail scars on His hands? Have you ever
thought that if you could only experience some miraculous moment, that perhaps
then you would find new strength to stand, power to proclaim Godís Word, or
wisdom to witness? Perhaps if you experience Christ as Paul did within a
blinding flash and an audible word, then you would find the boldness and
conviction to lead many to Jesus. Perhaps. But havenít you already experienced
such a miracle? For within a moment, you were miraculously transformed to become
a new creation. Once you were blind, but now you see. Once you were dead, but
now you have been made alive. You have not been invited to put your fingers into
Christís nail prints, but instead, invited to let Christ come into your heart
and leave His lasting print on you. Have you ever wondered why we want something
more than that? What else do we need to find the power to live a life that daily
points the way to Jesus?
