Ephesians 6:18, NAS: With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.

So how do we do it? How do we go from work to home to work to school to whatever else, and keep our minds focused where they need to be? Consider how many of us can be characterized as people who bring the job home. We try to leave the office at the office and give our undivided attention to our families, but sometimes our minds cannot stop thinking about the work we still have to do. We have a hard time changing hats--putting on the home hat and taking off the work hat. There may be many ways to accomplish this, but I believe there is one way that is a big help. That way is found in prayer. When going to work, pray on the way. Pray for work matters and coworkers. Get your spiritual head in the game on your way. The same goes for the trip home. On your way home, pray about your family, and your family members. Prayer is our best spiritual resource for getting our minds in agreement with God as to where we've been, where we are, and where we will be.
