Ezekiel 34:26, KJV: And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

There is a truth about our Lord that often escapes us, and often eludes us from considering its depth. This truth is that our Heavenly Father, regardless of our circumstance, is continuously showering us with blessing. For whatever is within the life of a child of God, is not without a divine purpose and permission. We ask, “Why do bad things happen?” Why not ask, “Why do good things happen?” Both good and bad have place in the life of the believer. With bad or good, we receive Heavenly showers of blessing. Not because we consider such things as favorable—but because God does. God “sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust” (Mt.5:45). We may see the rains as both bad and good, nevertheless, they are allowed by God—and with that, may only be truly seen as good. The truth is, we need to be blessed through the bad, as well as the good. Through such times our faith is established and our foundation made firm. When we understand this, our eyes will be open to see the blessings regardless of the showers they come within.
