Psalm 139:14, KJV: I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
There have been many days I have most assuredly felt "fearfully"
made. All too often, it seems the "wonderfully" part escapes my
attention. It seems that ever so often, I wake up on the wrong side of the
week-nothing makes me happy-nothing eases my mind. I share my heart with God and
wonder when the mood will swing back to normal; or at least, normal for me. And
yet, within the midst of my personal disparagement, I find hope in this: God
made us and loves us all-emotional handicaps included. Yes, for some of us, mood
swings can be like a burdensome disability. But God wants to help us to
understand ourselves, recognize our limitations, and learn to see ourselves
through His eyes. Then, regardless of what we see in the mirror, perhaps we will
find the heart to say, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right
