Soaring

by Randy Chambers, 1999-01-01

Upon the wings of butterflies
and tails of whippoorwills,
there is a grace my eyes behold
and for my heart a peace that stills.
As in the birds I see the joy
of hearts that are completely free,
And in the wind that holds them up
I see God's faithfulness to me.
To see winged beauty glide upon
the currents of the wind,
as easy as my human feet upon
the ground do stand;
It is the essence of a faith
which chooses not to trust the eye,
but finds the wind beneath the wing
is all I really need to fly.
